I got into financial planning because I think it can profoundly reshape people’s lives. Simple steps like budgeting or tracking expenses can improve things drastically, but so many simply don’t have the time, tools, or expertise necessary to do it alone. Financial planning is a way for me to holistically serve those around me: removing financial stressors, helping people focus on what matters, and empowering them to live more fully.

I’m very lucky to have a close circle of childhood friends who all returned to our hometown. I don’t want to take my time with them for granted and aim to spend every opportunity getting out and enjoying new experiences with them. We get together several times a week for weightlifting, sports, or just enjoying one another’s presence over dinner. We also try to escape to the idyllic nature surrounding the Bay Area by going hiking at least once a week.

I grew up reading books, and really love historical fiction, sci-fi, and fantasy. Each of these genres has such a unique power to twist reality to create a place the reader never wants to leave. Historical fiction instills a sense of curiosity and “what if,” to imagine how the world could unfolded differently. Science fiction showcases mesmerizing machinations of future technology and interstellar civilizations that fill me with a childlike wonder. And fantasy makes me yearn to explore its worlds full of ancient magics and incomprehensible creatures. My favorite works from each of these genres would be The Sympathizer by Viet Thanh Nguyen, Three Body Problem by Cixin Liu, and Haruki Murakami’s Kafka on the Shore, respectively.
