Margaret is a Senior Advisor serving Personal Wealth and Institutional clients.  As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER ™ professional, she provides comprehensive financial planning and investment advice to high-net-worth individuals.  She holds the Certified Pension Consultant designation and consults to retirement plan sponsors on plan design and fiduciary responsibility.  She also advises Endowments and Foundations on portfolio design and governance.  With over 25 years of experience in the industry, Margaret has also a background in retirement plan administration, mergers and acquisitions, and complex conversions.

One of the things I love to do is to educate others about financial matters.  Whether to an endowment committee about spending policy, a retirement plan sponsor about fiduciary duty, retirement plan participants to understand how to make the most of their 401(k) plan, or to high school seniors about financial literacy, I always find purpose in my work when someone says “that was really helpful” or “I learned a lot.”

One of my most gratifying experiences was when a young woman heard my 401(k) education presentation and came up to me afterwards to tell me that she was very interested in what I spoke about and wanted to learn how to become financially responsible. Her parents had not been good financial role models for her, and she wanted to learn how to do things properly.  She took my advice to heart, made drastic life changes to pay off her debt and began to save aggressively into her 401(k) plan.  Now, years later, she is fully on track to save enough for retirement.  It is my hope to make a difference in people’s lives.

Barcelona is one of my favorite cities in the world – the food, the culture, the history, the many things to see and do!  I aspire to visit Israel, Dubai, and South Africa.

I grew up in Trinidad and Tobago.  I lived on the southwest point of the island of Trinidad.  We could see Venezuela from our house.  I lost my island accent when we returned to the U.S. when I was 6 years old.

I am very active in the soccer program in which my kids participate.  I have been team manager for both of their teams for 9 years and have just retired from 8 years of the Board of Directors. I was recently appointed by my town’s City Council to serve on its Bond Oversight Committee.

My favorite restaurants in San Francisco are Kokkari Estiatorio, Slanted Door and Boulevard.  All are great places to celebrate special occasions.
